UCS™ cylinders come standard with pick and bump-resistant 6-pin cylinder technology that allows for 20,000+ key codes. These high-performance UCS™ cylinders feature pick/bump resistant 6-pin cylinder technology that offers over 20,000 unique key numbers. Competitor padlocks in this class typically have 4-pin cylinders that limit unique key numbers to around 500. Padlocks with only 4-pin cylinders should be seen as a security risk.
If maintaining strict key control is paramount to your business, and knowing that a loss of a key or a former employee walking away with one of your keys creates a security risk for your company, then stock an extra set of cylinders keyed to a brand new number.
